  1. Complete your application process

The following steps are involved in the university application process:

  1. Submitting a paper or online application
  2. Submitting official academic transcripts for every level of education you have completed. (Depending on the university you’re applying to, it might be official or unofficial)
  3. Submitting a copy of your passport.
  4. Submitting the language test results (Could be official or unofficial depending on the University you are applying to)
  5. Submitting your college recommendation letter (3-4 Lor)
  6. Essay/SoP submission (Some universities have specific requirements)
  7. If the university requires it, paying the application fees
  8. Couriering your documents if the university needs it.

 

4) Apply for your student visa

 

Visa Application Process

  1. Receive your I-20 along with your SEVIS number.
  2. Complete the DS 160 form. https://ceac.state.gov/genNIV/Default.aspx
  3. Pay the $185 interview fee at Nepal Investment Bank.
  4. Book an appointment with the US Embassy for the visa interview.
  5. Pay the $350 SEVIS fee at Nepal Investment Bank or any other bank.
  6. Bring your passport, I-20, original academic transcripts, SEVIS and DS 160 receipt to the interview.
  7. Prepare for the Interview

Congratulations if you receive your visa; if not, reapply using the DS 160 form. (You do not have to pay for your SEVIS again because it is valid for one year.)

 

5) Prepare for departure

 

Key components to this final step include making your travel arrangements, attending a pre-departure orientation, gathering pre-departure materials and documents for arrival, as well as reporting to your school and attending orientations.
